Silver Award Winning Garden at The Association of Professional Landscapers 2019.

The historic three storey house in the Berkshire village of Bradfield, had very strong architectural features with a cream render and horizontal bands of blue brick detail.. The garden was a proportionately small, walled courtyard, facing North. The client wanted a very low maintenance space as they were often away, with areas to barbeque, dine and lounge.

The design reflects the house architecture using a cream porcelain paving, with detail of bands blue brick shaped tiles, which also created the illusion of greater width, together with grey rendered planters. Planting was minimal but provided year-round interest and feature Ilex standard trees provided strategic screening. A built-in barbeque was incorporated together with space for a large sofa set and a pergola to provide shade for dining. Bespoke cupboards were designed for bin and cushion storage. The garden is located in Bradfield, Berkshire.
